Da un po' di tempo è approdata in televisione una tenera cucciola di Bovaro del Bernese nella trasmissione striscia la notizia e sembra si sia aperto un caso diplomatico. Le molteplici considerazioni di merito si sprecano, più o meno condivisibili, più o meno discutibili, più o meno veritiere, più o meno sincere, sicuramente tutte lecite e per quanto ci riguarda rispettabili. Abbiamo così deciso di esprimere il nostro pensiero, tra i tanti, utilizzando lo spazio del nostro sito, pubblicamente, perché conosciamo bene Marco, l'allevatore che ha deciso di vivere questa esperienza, al quale va il nostro caloroso abbraccio, e perché riteniamo opportuno precisare la nostra posizione in merito, evitando di essere accomunati silenziosamente a questo o quel pensiero. In primis sappiamo che Marco, persona intelligente e sensibile, ha valutato attentamente la questione Bernese in televisione prima di decidere sul da farsi, e si è posto in prima persona tutte le questioni del caso; detto questo noi pensiamo sia un'opportunità, né più né meno come ve ne sono tante altre, affrontata in maniera onesta e trasparente. Riteniamo che la presenza di Berna (nome d'arte) sia importante per diffondere la conoscenza di questa splendida razza, attraverso la visione di un tenero cucciolo, equilibrato e coccolone, come tutti i cuccioli di Bernese. Riteniamo non sia compito della televisione, per lo meno non in questo contenitore, impartire lezioni di morale, di cultura cinofila, di morfologia o zootecnia, di riproduzione o peggio di selezione della razza, e pertanto è ingiusto aspettarselo o peggio pretenderlo; ognuno faccia il proprio mestiere, con serietà, secondo natura, scienza e coscienza, ... la propria. Se a noi allevatori, in seguito a questa vetrina mediale (quasi tutti gli allevatori hanno un sito ...) arriveranno più richieste di adozioni, non penso sia un grosso problema o una situazione deprecabile, anzi, tutt'altro, per altro per noi non cambierà nulla, continueremo a fare ciò che abbiamo sempre fatto: le nostre due o tre cucciolate l'anno, la nostra solita seria e doverosa selezione dei futuri genitori adottivi, la nostra solita attività di informazione e formazione, la nostra solita azione di controllo post adozione. Siamo realisti ed obiettivi e pensiamo che le posizioni liberticide in nome della tutela della razza siano un atteggiamento errato nei termini, integralista e troppo spesso ipocrita; la cultura di una società si può osservare da molteplici punti di vista, e chi riproduce sull'onda del cane alla moda senza cognizione di causa, è probabilmente uguale a chi adotta un cucciolo badando solo al portafoglio, ed è probabilmente paragonabile a chi addita o peggio accusa episodi sporadici come Berna a striscia, sapendo poco o nulla di cosa sia una trasmissione televisiva, che ripetiamo, poco ha a che fare con la cultura cinofila di noi esseri umani. In fondo, nessuno si è poi scandalizzato tanto quando nella medesima trasmissione è apparso un meticcio … Forse, alla fine di tutto, noi uomini facciamo emergere troppo spesso uno dei nostri peggiori difetti, uno di quei difetti di cui non soffrono i nostri amati cani: l'invidia. Preferiamo vedere in TV l'oggetto del nostro amore quotidiano, coccolato e divertito, che una serie infinita di esseri umani sull'orlo di una crisi di nervi ... Godetevi lo spettacolo, Viva Berna!
